character profile
Leo Kershaw
original character hunter: the vigil
|
Briefly possessed by a spirit and hecked up real bad trying to fix it. Ended up Indebted to the Loyalists of Thule as a result when they swept in to save his ass and his town from his hasty mistake. Worked at his sister's coffee shop through high school and continues to work at one now, since that is his only actually employable skill. Spends his weekends watching campy horror movies and reluctantly doing supernatural grunt work and research for the Loyalists.
Friendly but distracted. Seems spread way too thin and a little too constantly overwhelmed for a guy who works at a coffee shop and claims to have no social life. Is the kind of guy who is constantly, compulsively checking the time even when he seems earnestly engaged in conversation. Compassionate but fairly guarded when it comes to divulging details about himself. Clever, perceptive, and lonely. It's not that he doesn't want friends - he just doesn't know how to go about making them and doesn't have the time to figure it out.
The Indebted: Hunter-Scholars. "Among the Loyalists of Thule, it's brains over brawn. Sure, it doesn't hurt to be able to swing a shovel at a vampire's neck or know how to shoot a pistol with the safety off, but that's not their general approach. They're not hasty. They stick to the shadows. They watch. They learn. When they hunt, they hunt intelligently--setting traps, playing monsters against one another, and going armed with as much information as is humanly possible. Some say they play it too safe, that while they're combing through ancient texts or sneaking into a vampire's haven to hack his computer, the monsters are out there, doing bad work, with nobody to stop them. Then again, some say that until the Loyalists show up at their door, soaked in mud and blood, holding an old Buddhist prayer ritual that's just what they needed. All told, it's worth asking, though: why are they so cautious? What gives them pause, causing them to act so judiciously in the hunt? It's because somebody fucked up. This is how you get into the Loyalists of Thule: somebody in your family messed around with the occult, or you messed around with the occult, and bad things happened." - Hunter: The Vigil sourcebook
