"Okay," he says lightly, then hesitantly adds: "But let me know if you go see Kat?"

"I will," he answers without hesitation. "Probably not that soon, though. I think giving her some time might be good?"

[busybean]

Leo gives him a curious look, unable to keep from pointing out: "She WAS ready to fight for you."

[soicantlose]

"I guess so. It's weird. Kinda wish I could just ask what's different without sounding crazy," he admits, giving Leo a little smile.

[busybean]

"Yeah. I kinda wish, too? Just-" He pauses, then admits- "Kind of a dumb thing to say, I guess. It's none of my business."

[soicantlose]

"I mean, it kinda is. Since you're stuck with me and all," he adds, a little bit teasing, leaning in to press a quick kiss against Leo's mouth.

[busybean]

Leo rolls his eyes, but it's all performative. "Uh huh. Just wait 'till we hop to a timeline where we're exes."

[soicantlose]

"It'll be a chance to fix it for that fucked-up timeline," Nate says cheerfully, snaking an arm around Leo's waist and squeezing him gently.

[busybean]

"Sure," he says, rolling into that touch and just adjusting to get comfortable with Nate close. "Still can't believe you picked me. That's so cool."

[soicantlose]

He shakes his head slightly, settling himself as well. "Never considered anything else."

[busybean]

"Yeah, but like-" Leo smiles, his eyes closed, trying to get ready to drift. "I'm still glad."

[soicantlose]

"Good. M'glad you're here." His hand drifts up Leo's back lightly, watching him with a warm expression. "Goodnight, baby."

[busybean]

"Goodnight," he echoes, and he'll sleep basically as long as he's allowed, tiredness bone-deep from the way he's been pushing himself.

[soicantlose]

For once, Nate will wake up first, but he doesn't have any interest in disturbing Leo, relieved to see he's getting rest. He'll just curl up there, occassionally poking at his phone, and eventually try to carefully slip out of bed to go make food.
