"Yeah. Part of me knew that." He can't keep his hands off Nate; nothing even titillating now, just gently stroking his sides. "Just had to make sure it wasn't outta, I dunno. Guilt or something."
"Yeah. I guess I get that." He doesn't have any complaints about the constant contact, relaxed under the touch despite the discussion, eyes closing as he appreciates it. "Still would've hated it if you just left, though."
"I wanted to," he confesses, tone apologetic. "I thought about it. But, um - I figured - you're an adult, and you could make your own choices, and it would have probably fucked my chances with you if breaking the watch fixed it."
"I think..." He hums, thoughtful, fingers stroking over Leo's chest absently. "I think I woulda understood eventually. But I'd've been pissed at you for a while. I wanted to be there so I could -- I dunno. Save you. Help."
"Baby," Leo echoes with a pleased while, like he hadn't been stressed and calling Nate that without fully realizing it while they were meeting with Kat. "God, cute and hot at the same time, how is it possible?"
Leo doesn't mean to snort then, but it sort of just happens, and he leans in to softly kiss the side of Nate's neck. "I'm thirsty, and I want something chocolate," he murmurs. "We're gonna have to get up."
He shifts to try to gently slide Nate down onto the couch next to him. "I'll get you something cold to drink baby, just watch tv for a minute." Is he kind of excited at getting to be the one to take care of Nate for once? Maybe.
"You sure you don't want me to come?" He's not arguing, just checking. The couch is comfortable, and he'll settle himself into the spot while waiting for his answer, watching Leo.
"Yes," he tells him with a mock- exasperated laugh, pushing at Nate's shoulder. "Love you. Be back." And he will a few minutes later, carrying two icy glasses of water and a small handful of snack cakes. "Kind of a crappy dinner, but I don't really wanna let you cook right now," he says, dropping back down lightly beside him.
"I'm not that thirsty, it can wait a minute," he complains, moving to bump a kiss against Leo's neck. He'll reluctantly straighten up after a second to have a drink, though, glancing at Leo after with a lopsided grin. "Happy?"
He warms a little under that look, glancing down with a pleased expression and knocking his knee against Leo's gently. "Good. Means I'm doing my job right."
"Yeah. We should try it again sometime," he says, grabbing one of the snack cakes and settling back into the couch. "Just, uh -- hopefully without people I know coming out of nowhere, next time."
"S'okay. I would've if some old fuckbuddy of yours came up to say hi, too." A pause, and then he adds, as if it just occurred to him, "Though he's probably not, if Kat was still around."
"Schroedinger's fuckbuddy," Leo says, then presses his hand to his face, laughter rippling through him. "I could introduce you to some old fuckbuddies if you wanna even it out," he says, still laughing.
